What is herbology?

Herbology is also known as Herbal Medicine, Herbalism, Phytotherapy or Botanical Medicine.

It is the use of herbs for their therapeutic or medicinal value.  Many well-established modern medicines come from plants.

Modern Herbology is based on scientific research as well as traditional uses of herbs.  It is both an art and a science.

Modern herbology looks at the whole person - the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of who we are.  The clinical herbalist looks for imbalances or patterns in any of these areas and recommends a protocol that works to re-establish homeostasis (balance) in the body.  This will help the body to heal itself, as it was designed to do.
